Behind this is Michael Smith who forover two decades has facilitated, guided, designed, trained and operated challenge courses, zip line canopy tours and aerial adventure parks.  He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), the leading standards author and professional trade association for the canopy/zipline and aerial adventure park market.

Inspired by emerging opportunities in the eco-adventure market and frustrated by the limited role of a design/build vendor, Smith launched ArborTrek Canopy Adventures' flagship operation at Smugglers' Notch Resort in Stowe, VT, in November 2010 with the goal of being the premier provider of zip line canopy tours and aerial adventure parks in the U.S. and Canada.  Before the doors were even opened, and prior to the first guest strapping into a harness, he chose Resmark Systems to help establish the business and start his operation off on the right foot.

Resmark Systems Welcomes New Clients From Utah Peaks to Florida Keys

Dudes Waive before Riding: Western Guest Ranches Employ Electronic Waivers Prior to Participation in Activities

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, April 22, 2015 – Member ranches of the national Dude Ranchers’ Association perked up their ears at a recent gathering where they enjoyed a presentation about a new-fangled digital liability release process called WaiverSign that goes a long way to eliminating human error and paperwork.

“The response was overwhelming,” said presenter Brandon Lake of WaiverSign headquartered in Salt Lake City. “These folks would rather be out riding the range and providing incredible guest service than filing papers, and that’s where WaiverSign comes in.” This is a paperless liability waiver application that allows guests to electronically a sign a waiver even before they arrive at their dude ranch for vacation.

Since the recent conference, Lake said more than a dozen ranches have signed on to integrate WaiverSign (http://waiversign.com/) into their busy lives. Some ranchers who had been using the new system for awhile advocated for WaiverSign at the conference. 

Laurence Kaplan who owns Red Reflet Guest Ranch in Ten Sleep, WY, said the waivers are signed electronically before guests arrive. “The process is just so simple and the waivers are not lost in the filing stack! The experience of moving to paperless has been positive, simple and painless! The KISS principle has been applied and works well.” Based on this satisfaction and the fact that WaiverSign helps the business look even more professional, Kaplan is recommending the system to other colleagues.

The President of the association, Douglas Hare, who is general manager of The Red Rock Ranch near Jackson Hole, WY, said that prior to using WaiverSign he used printed waivers that people signed when they checked in. Hare states that he “often had to track them down to get them to sign at some later point. This created a liability issue.”

Hare has now used WaiverSign for two years. “The system has streamlined office time immensely, being the small business that we are. My office time is unfortunately too much when I should really be focusing on guest services. WaiverSign has made my life easier and my time in the office less. And I am more secure now that the waivers are signed before guests show up.”

He said that he did confer with his legal advisor before making the switch from paper to digital. The waivers are held on the WaiverSign servers. “There’s very little that we had to do short of creating an account with them. They’re way advanced. They’ve thought of everything.” He said the digital waiver can even be taken on an iPad in a ranch vehicle for initial guest pickups. “Transportation is covered before they get in. We’re as legally covered as we can be.”

On the edge of Grand Teton National Park is Moose Head Ranch. Louise Davenport, proprietor, has had three summers with WaiverSign under her belt. “Horrible” is how she described the paper process before WaiverSign.

She’s relieved not to be sending out five pieces of paper for every member of a family planning to be a guest here. “Everything is on line. The storage is what I love.” Before she said there were filing cabinets full of waivers from “way back when because you were afraid to throw them out.”

She plans to put information about WaiverSign on her website so “people can’t come back to me and say they weren’t aware they would have to sign a waiver.”

Lakeadded that nearly half of ranches in attendance showed “direct interest in digital waivers. Immediately following the presentation, we were excited to see such a positive response.  Many of those are already in the free trial period, and we expect them to become full fledged accounts.”

WaiverSign allows companies to easily create and execute digital liability waivers, release forms and rental agreements that participants can read and sign online in advance of arrival or upon arrival to an activity, by using a desktop computer, tablet or phone. Ease of Collecting Digital Personal Risk and Liability Waivers Garners Accolades for Resmark Systems’ New WaiverSign

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, Dec. 11, 2014– Reducing in-house paperwork and streamlining and automating the reservation process also makes it easier for clients to read, understand and sign Personal Risk and Liability waivers for guided recreational activities.

That’s the experience of Alaska Alpine Adventures in Anchorage that for the past year has been a client of Resmark Systems and its still-new-to-the-market WaiverSign that integrates with reservation systems and allows clients to sign waivers before they arrive at their activity site.

“The integration with our reservation system (Resmark) and the ability for us to be able to automate both delivery and fulfillment of our waivers has really freed us up to focus on bringing more value to our guests,” said Dan Oberlatz of Alaska Alpine Adventures.

“After all, in the super competitive world of adventure travel, it’s important to make certain that you’re not wasting your customer’s time. Anyone signing up for yoga and fitness activities and for virtually any brand-organized physical pursuit most likely will be asked to sign personal injury waiver. WaiverSign Announces New Digital Liability Waiver System

WaiverSign, Digital Waiver Signing Application, Eliminates Paper & Offers Huge Time Savings for Businesses

Resmark Systems Hires Adventure Industry Specialist Kate Tucker, to Head Marketing and Sales as Growth Continues

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, June 12, 2013 -- Resmark Systems, “Tour Operator Software Created by Tour Operators,” announced recently that Kate Tucker has joined the staff to focus on partnership development, Resmark’s affiliate program, business development, marketing and sales. 

She assumed the position of Director of Sales & Marketing on April 15, said Brandon Lake, Resmark Systems (http://www.resmarksystems.com/) founder. 

“Business has been strong and the outlook for the future is even better,” noted Lake. “We’ve experienced a nearly 300 percent increase in revenue since 2010 and we’ll look to Kate to help us continue this momentum and attract an even larger percentage of the expanding market.” 

Well known in the industry, she spent the past seven years as Marketing Director and Client Manager for AdventureFinder.com, a subsidiary of Orbitz Worlwide. Among her many accomplishments was designing and implementing comprehensive online marketing strategies for companies ranging from high-end luxury to start-up brands; transitioning GORPtravel.com from a commission-based sales site to a successful pay-per-click, pay-per-lead email and banner advertising site, AdventureFinder; and growing a consumer subscriber list to over 100K names. 

She also worked for GORPtravel from 2001 to 2006, first as a sales agent and then as marketing director.

American Queen Steamboat - As the largest steamboat built in the United States, the American Queen is currently the only authentic overnight paddlewheel operational in America. Shore Excursions of America operates day excursions and tours of port cities along the way. One of the most prominent reasons for purchasing Resmark was the ability for guests to pay for reservations utilizing onboard credit as well as normal credit card transactions. 

Predator Zip Line - Predator Zip Line is a new zip line operation opening in the spring of 2013 in Camp Verde, AZ. Guests will be strapped into a harness and will soar over some of nature’s fiercest predators while zipping over the Out of Africa Wildlife Park.  Resmark’s mobile online reservation functionality, especially geared to guests booking on tablets and other mobile devices such as smart phones will be a priority for Predator Zip Line.

Green River Adventures - Located in Saluda, NC, Green River Adventures has been operating kayak trips on the Lower and Upper Green River since 2006. In May of 2013, Green River Adventures is also opening The Gorge Zip Line, a tree-top canopy tour descending 1,100 vertical feet over the Green River Gorge. Resmark Systems Introduces Mobile Booking System For Tour Operators in Adventure Travel Industry

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, Feb. 25, 2013 -- Resmark Systems, “Tour Operator Software Created by Tour Operators,” recently launched a mobile booking system for tour companies that enables potential clients to book partial to multiple-day tours and activities by smart phone and tablet. 

This newly developed capability is an incredibly intuitive and mobile-friendly online reservation process that allows tour operators to take advantage of the new mobile reality. Resmark reports the system is significantly increasing mobile reservations and efficiencies. 

“One of our clients, Moab Adventure Center, has increased mobile reservations by over 400 percent using this new booking system from Resmark,” reports Chip Broyles, Client Success Manager for Resmark. 

The mobile booking process was designed to be simple.  Once a tour has been selected and the booking page accessed, users select a date on an easy-to-use calendar, choose the number of participants, and check out.  Tour operators have the option to up-sell additional items in the process if they wish. 

Once someone has booked their tour, they receive a link that allows them to fill out additional information that the tour operator may require. “This keeps the booking process on a mobile device simple for the guest, but allows the tour operator to collect the information they need from participants,” explains Broyles. 

A company can set up this new Resmark system with a few lines of code that allow booking buttons to be placed anywhere on a tour operator's website. Buttons can even be embedded on a travel partner's website, i.e. another tour operator, travel agent or a local hotel or campground.
