Navitat opened its Asheville, NC, location in 2010 with their original tree-based canopy tour, the Moody Cove Adventure. In 2014, they added a second tour to its Asheville location, an unprecedented mountaintop zipline tour, the Blue Ridge Experience. This year marks the first full season of the company’s new tree-based adventure park, the Ijams Canopy Experience, at Knoxville’s Ijams Nature Center. The 2.5-hour, self-guided tour consists of a series of zip lines, suspension bridges and challenge elements.

This is the first of several ZIPStream Aerial Adventures' parks slated to open in coming years. Behind this is Michael Smith who forover two decades has facilitated, guided, designed, trained and operated challenge courses, zip line canopy tours and aerial adventure parks.  He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), the leading standards author and professional trade association for the canopy/zipline and aerial adventure park market.

Inspired by emerging opportunities in the eco-adventure market and frustrated by the limited role of a design/build vendor, Smith launched ArborTrek Canopy Adventures' flagship operation at Smugglers' Notch Resort in Stowe, VT, in November 2010 with the goal of being the premier provider of zip line canopy tours and aerial adventure parks in the U.S. and Canada.  Before the doors were even opened, and prior to the first guest strapping into a harness, he chose Resmark Systems to help establish the business and start his operation off on the right foot.
