As a member in good standing of both the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO) and the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO), Poseidon Expeditions pledges its commitment to the further development of Arctic and Antarctic conservation and support of related scientific research.

They actively encourage participation in their expeditions by naturalists and scientists engaged in such research, offering a platform from which they can pursue their important work as well as a forum where they can voice their unique understanding of these fragile and remote ecosystems. Preservation of the Arctic and Antarctic habitats and the polar ice cap are environmental imperatives and the responsibility of all, including tourism operators and their guests. Poseidon Expeditions is honored to be a part of this, and to help passengers understand the importance of preserving Polar Regions for future generations.

International Family of Polar Explorers

What sets Poseidon Expeditions apart from many other cruise operations is its ability to attract an international mixture of cruise participants. Guests come from China,Russia, Europe, North America, Australia and elsewhere. While English is the primary language spoken by expedition leaders and staff, Poseidon offers a QuietVox in-ear translation system for non-English-speaking passengers (e.g. German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, French, and Swedish). Since the Polar Regions truly hold international status belonging to the world community, it is only fitting that travelers should arrive there with fellow expeditioners from all corners of the globe.

Successful Start to Poseidon Expeditions’ Third Season of Expedition Cruising To Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, Falkland Islands

PROVIDENCE, RI, Nov. 16, 2017 Poseidon Expeditions’ 2017-18 Antarctic season is off to a successful start with the completion of its first voyage of the austral summer, which explored the Falkland Islands and remote South Georgia.

For the first time, the company has also added packages that allow guests to spend several days in Buenos Aires and the spectacular and world-renowned wine region of Mendoza either before or after their cruise to Antarctica.

Poseidon Expeditions (http://poseidonexpeditions.com/), which focuses on remote polar cruise exploration in the high latitudes, offers cruises from October through February in the Southern Ocean. Since taking over operations of the 114-passenger expedition ship Sea Spirit in May 2015, Poseidon Expeditions have led more than 20 successful expeditions to the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.

“This season is shaping up to be an exceptional one for our company,” said Nikolay Saveliev, president of Poseidon Expeditions. “We are at 95% occupancy for the current season, with just a few cabins remaining for the late-booking crowd.”

“Our industry travel partners as well as prospective travelers who have done their research recognize the premium level of service and accommodations they will receive aboard the Sea Spirit. Our experienced guides are international and multi-lingual, ready to provide travelers from all over the world an informed and expertly curated experience to the Seventh Continent,” he added.

The Sea Spirit’s expedition staff-to-passenger ratio of 1:9 is one of the most generous in the business.

All staterooms aboard the handsome and well-appointed 114-passenger expedition ship Sea Spirit were renovated in 2017, with all new soft goods – carpeting, draperies, upholstery, bed linens – some furniture and fixtures as well as complete replacement of all bathrooms. The beautiful bathrooms feature all-new tile work throughout, stone vanities, new fixtures and shower modules. The 2017 updates conclude a three-year schedule of overall improvements.

Sea Spiritoffers all-suite accommodations ranging from 215 to 463 square feet (20-43 square meters). There are two multi-purpose lounges for educational programming and entertainment, a restaurant that can accommodate all passengers in one seating, a well-stocked polar library, and ample outdoor deck space to enjoy the Antarctic landscapes and wildlife.

Guests can expect many opportunities for activities while traveling in the Southern Ocean. Shore landings allow them to explore and to partake in guide-led hikes and photography workshops. Sea kayaking and Zodiac cruising are offered, and camping is available for up to 40 guests each trip.

While just a few cabins remain available for the current 2017-18 season, rates and special offers can be found at https://poseidonexpeditions.com/. Prospective travelers are also advised to plan ahead and to consider booking accommodations soon for the 2018-19 season that begins in October 2018. While a number of Antarctic departures are already sold out for the 2018-19 season, the company reports that most departures still have good availability.

The company’s 80-page catalog detailing the company’s Antarctic trips for 2018-19 is also available and can be requested online or through any of the Poseidon Expeditions offices. Poseidon Expeditions Completes Sea Spirit Passenger Transfer via Helicopter in West Greenland

PROVIDENCE, RI, June 1, 2017 -- Poseidon Expeditions, anticipating the potential landscape challenges of icy West Greenland in the spring, used its experience and contingency planning to successfully transfer more than 200 guests via helicopter on Wednesday.

Following a short Zodiac cruise from the MV Sea Spirit, anchored in Ikertoq Fjord in West Greenland, the transfer took place on a grassy field near the abandoned village of Sarqardlit, about 35 nautical miles west of the intended disembarkation point in Kangerlussuaq.

The initial morning helicopter transfer involved 90 passengers. This transfer by helicopter was necessitated by sea ice blocking the final miles of eastern Søndrestrom Fjord. The ice prevented the planned disembarkation of the vessel’s first cruise of the Arctic season in Kangerlussuaq, from where passengers were to fly home. West Greenland’s only international airport, Kangerlussusq sits at the far eastern end of Søndrestrom Fjord.

Planning for this operation (not an emergency) had been underway for the previous 10 days by the Poseidon Expeditions’ operations team and Greenland service providers. The cruise began in Nuuk, Greenland on May 22 and was not shortened in any way due to the ice situation. Guests explored intended coastal areas including Disko Bay during the cruise, visiting small Inuit villages and taking advantage of expedition activities such as nature hikes, Zodiac cruising and kayaking.

Similarly, but in the reverse direction, the 114 guests who planned to embark the Sea Spirit Wednesday afternoon in Kangerlussuaq for a May 30-June 6 voyage were flown via helicopter from the airport to Sarqardlit. During both morning and afternoon operations, guests and their luggage were transferred via Zodiac landing craft between the Sea Spirit and the makeshift helicopter pad in Sarqardlit.

For the transfer, Poseidon Expeditions contracted with Air Greenland to secure the services of a 19-seat Sikorsky S61-N helicopter. Passengers were flown in small groups on the approximately 30-minute flight each direction, with luggage carried on a separate flight.

Nikolay Saveliev, president of Poseidon Expeditions, gave high marks to all involved in the successful completion of the helicopter transfers. “I want to thank our operations team as well as the ship’s captain and expedition staff, all of whom made this happen without a hitch in Sarqardlit. We also had great cooperation from Air Greenland and our ground operator, World of Greenland, both of whom partnered with us in a most professional way to make ‘Plan B’ a complete success.”

According to World of Greenland and Air Greenland, this was the first such passenger transfer via helicopter between an expedition vessel and Kangerlussuaq, and involved more than 200 guests.

“Cruising in the polar regions usually has some unplanned twists and turns; this is what expedition cruising is all about. We have more than 15 years of experience using helicopters in the high Arctic, and so were able to effectively integrate this into the operation. We’re happy to report that the passengers took the change of plans in stride, and considered it an unexpected bonus of their Greenland adventure,” Saveliev said.

Ice conditions in Søndrestrom Fjord will continue to be monitored during the next week to determine if disembarkation on June 6 will take place in Kangerlussuaq as scheduled, or if the Sikorsky S61-N helicopter will again be called into action.

According to Anja Erdmann, the ship’s expedition leader who has more than 15 years of experience in Greenland cruising, sea ice is always a factor along the island’s western shores and fjords in May. “We enjoyed ice-free conditions last year – same week, same place – but there are never any guarantees and a realistic, objective appraisal of the situation beforehand is always required. We know the risks and just have to be prepared for them,” she said.

Poseidon Expeditions’ M/v Sea Spirit Undergoes $2.5 Million Refurbishment Ahead of 2017-18 Arctic and Antarctic Seasons

PROVIDENCE, RI, May 23, 2017–  Poseidon Expeditions’ polar cruising star, theall-suite, 114-passenger M/v Sea Spirithas repositioned to Nuuk, Greenland, to begin her 2017 Arctic season, following a $2.5 million-plus refurbishment of all 54 guest suites during a recent dry dock in Vigo, Spain.

This was the final phase of a full-ship refurbishment that began two years ago with restoration of the ship’s public areas. In charge of this last phase of interior refurbishment is Nedgé Louis-Jacques of Tomas Tillberg Design & Associates of Weston, FL, specialists in marine architecture and design.

Each suite features completely new bath modules including new tile throughout, stone vanity top with integrated mirror, sink and fixtures, towel bars and mirrors. A glass divider panel separates each shower and sink unit.

Suites are appointed with new lounge and desk chairs, beds, mattresses and coffee tables, flat screen TVs, light fixtures, sconces and soft goods: drapes, bedspreads, carpeting and upholstery. Beds in all suites are convertible to either twin or queen configuration. The palette selected for fabrics and carpets reflects the muted mystery of the polar environments through which Sea Spirit travels. Think soft browns, beiges that resemble colors of ceramics, and blues reflecting the seas, all playing off of original wood paneling that is being retained.

Nikolay Saveliev, president of Poseidon Expeditions, said of the improvements: “While the focus of our guests and expedition team is on the wildlife and unique landscapes found in the Arctic and Antarctica, providing them with spacious, beautifully appointed accommodations goes a long way to complement and enhance the overall experience. The staterooms now afford an elegant retreat, a place to relax and recharge following active days exploring these remote environments.”

Sea Spirit sailed originally as the Renaissance IV, then worldwide and in Alaska as the popular Spirit of Oceanus. She underwent technical improvements for polar cruising in 2010. Since then as Sea Spirit she has been providing polar adventure cruises in both the Arctic and Antarctic environments. Sea Spirit offers all-suite accommodations with square footages ranging from 215 to 463. There are two multi-purpose lounges for educational programming and entertainment; a restaurant that can accommodate all passengers in one seating; a well-stocked library; and ample outdoor deck space to enjoy the polar landscapes and wildlife. Activities directed by a team of experienced polar guides and naturalists include Zodiac landing craft excursions, hiking and optional kayaking and camping, along with informative presentations aboard. The ship’s expedition staff-to-passenger ratio of 1:9 is one of the best in the business.

Poseidon Expeditions (https://poseidonexpeditions.com/) will again this season offer a wide range of Arctic cruises aboard the Sea Spirit, including a first-ever Voyage to The Arctic expedition, June 17-29, 2017, that explores Iceland’s northern fjords and travels along the Arctic Circle to the Norwegian coast where a number of stops are planned before proceeding north to Bear Island and the Spitsbergen Archipelago. Remote Franz Josef Land in the Russian High Arctic will also be explored on an Aug. 14-29, 2017, voyage.

Arctic rates in 2017 for the all-suite Sea Spirit begin at $8,395 per person, double, and if three people share a spacious Triple Suite the rate is just $5,995 per person. New for 2017 will be the inclusion of a pre-cruise hotel night in either Reykjavik, Iceland, or Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, depending on the itinerary.

Following the last Arctic voyage to East Greenland in mid-September of 2017, the vessel will position to South America to commence a series of expedition cruises to the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands during the 2017-18 austral summer season. The new Antarctic season also will include the popular Antarctic Circle cruise, which travels below the most southerly of the earth’s five major circles of latitude, approximately 66º south.

Antarctic rates for the 2017-18 season begin at just $7,995 per person in a Triple Suite and $11,195 in a double-occupancy Main Deck Suite.

For the 2018 Arctic and 2018-19 Antarctic seasons, travel agents and consumers can take advantage of early booking savings of 10%-15% from regular rates. These savings will be available through July 2017.

The complete 2017-18 Arctic and Antarctic schedules, rates and special offers can be found at www.poseidonexpeditions.com. A new 80-page catalog detailing the company’s ships and activities is also available and can be requested online or through any of the Poseidon Expeditions offices.

PROVIDENCE, RI, April 27, 2017 –Three internationally renowned photographers will travel with polar cruise expert Poseidon Expeditions on select voyages in 2017 and 2018. On these journeys the photographers will host seminars and workshops for passengers.

The celebrity photographers are Filip Kulisev (http://www.amazing-planet.com/en/author), James Balog (http://jamesbalog.com) and David McKay (https://davidmckayphotography.com). They will headline an accomplished Expedition Team of top specialists including scientists, marine biologists, geologists, explorers and historians who regularly accompany each Poseidon Expeditions departure.

Filip Kulisev, whose Amazing Planet series has captured international attention, is collaborating with Poseidon Expeditions to secure a new series of images of icy landscapes and diverse polar world wildlife on his multiple voyages into the polar realm. This partnership is in preparation for a late autumn 2018 exhibit at Monaco’s Galerie des Pêcheurs. Monaco’s Prince Albert II will preside over the exhibition’s opening.

Nikolay Saveliev, President of Poseidon Expeditions (https://poseidonexpeditions.com/), said that the company is honored to be a part of the project. “We believe that this new chapter of the Amazing Planet series will promote a special appreciation and respect for the Polar Regions, and help to encourage conservation and preservation of these wild unique places for future generations.”

Kulisev’s work and publications are part of the collections of eminent personalities around the world, including Pope Francis, His Royal Highness Prince Charles, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Slovak President Andrej Kiska, and many others. He will join the following departures:

·         22 May - 06 June 2017 South and West Greenland and Disko Bay

·         14 June - 27 June 2017 North Pole

·         28 June - 08 July 2017 West Spitsbergen & Ice Cap

·         14 Aug -29 Aug 2017 Franz Josef Land

·         03 Jan - 23 Jan 2018 Falklands, South Georgia & Antarctica

Renowned National Geographic photographer James Balog will join a July 8-20, 2018 North Pole voyage aboard the nuclear-powered icebreaker, I/B 50 Years of Victory. He and his team are famous for the largest calving glacier ever captured on film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC3VTgIPoGU. His work explores the relationship between humans and nature. Since the early 1980s Balog has photographed such subjects as endangered animals, North America’s old-growth forests, and polar ice. His work aims to combine insights from art and science to produce innovative, dynamic and sometimes shocking interpretations of our changing world. His best-known project explores the impact of climate change on the world’s glaciers. In 2007 he initiated the Extreme Ice Survey, the most wide-ranging ground-based photographic glacier study ever conducted.

National Geographic magazine showcased Balog's ice work in 2007, 2010, and 2013, and the project is featured in the 2009 NOVA documentary Extreme Ice as well as the 75-minute film Chasing Ice, which premiered in January 2012. Balog’s book Ice: Portraits of the World’s Vanishing Glaciers summarizes the work of the Extreme Ice Survey through 2012. Chasing Ice won an Emmy Award in 2014 and was short-listed for an Oscar. It has been screened at the White House, in the U.S. Congress, in the U.K. House of Commons, and at the United Nations. It has been the subject of features on the NBC Nightly News, ABC Nightline, The Late Show with David Letterman, PBS’s Moyers & Company, and Real Time with Bill Maher.

In January 2016, Balog began production on another feature-length documentary film, Life Tectonic (working title), exploring the environmental effects of the Anthropocene. The film is scheduled to debut in early 2018.

David McKay, author of the award-winning book, Yuba Seasons: Images of the Wild & Scenic South Yuba River, along with several of his professional colleagues will lead a photography expedition on a June 27-July 5, 2018 West Spitsbergen and Polar Ice Edge trip aboard the 114-passenger M/V Sea Spirit. He has been a professional photographer for over 40 years and began teaching photography in 1976. Since 1974, McKay has had numerous shows and exhibits, won several awards, and has had his work published in national newspapers, magazines, brochures and books.

McKay says, “I am a photographer of the environment. Whether it is a cityscape or landscape, I immerse myself in my surroundings and capture them in creative ways through my lens. You can't force creativity. You have to allow it, by being a part of where you are, not as a detached observer. I become something different when I pick up a camera and look through that magical window.”

Poseidon Expeditions Announces Early Bird Discounts on Three North Pole-bound Icebreaker Expeditions in 2018

PROVIDENCE, RI, March 28, 2017 Poseidon Expeditions announces early booking savings of $1,435 to $2,255 per person on three 2018 voyages aboard the only passenger-carrying vessel in the world that can attain 90º north, the geographic North Pole.

With rates starting at $27,260 per person (double occupancy), this singular adventure starts in Murmansk, Russia. There, guests embark the nuclear-powered icebreaker 50 Years of Victory for a roundtrip voyage to the geographic North Pole. Anticipation heightens as the most powerful icebreaker ever built smashes through Arctic Ocean ice up to three meters in thickness.

In addition to the exhilaration of cruising aboard a state-of-the-art icebreaker and the thrill of standing at the top of the world, passengers also have the opportunity to explore the rarely visited Russian Arctic Archipelago of Franz Josef Land. This remote wilderness is home to a variety of iconic High Arctic wildlife, including polar bears. In the surrounding icy waters, it is possible to spot seals, walrus, and the elusive bowhead whale. The archipelago also hosts an abundance of nesting Arctic seabirds such as the rare ivory gull.

Activities throughout the journey are centered on discovery, history and wildlife. Seasoned guides help guests spot puffins, gannets, guillemots and other bird life on excursions ashore. While on deck, everyone has an eye out for whales -- humpback, fin and minke. walruses and seals -- harp, bearded and other species – are often seen on ice floes. And, of course, sightings of Ursus maritimus or the polar bear is a highlight in a wonderland of glaciers, fjords and waterfalls, all created by the terrific force of the island’s massive ice cap. Guests explore climate and environmental issues affecting the regions and seasonal ice cover.

An included activity on all Poseidon Expeditions North Pole cruises is flightseeing aboard the icebreaker’s onboard helicopter. From aloft guests have a unique and exciting perspective from which to witness the ship plowing its way through the ice and to experience the surreal beauty of the vast frozen ocean.

The helicopter is also utilized to achieve landings in Franz Josef Land when conditions prevent landings by Zodiac, giving unparalleled access to this remote and hard-to-reach Arctic wilderness. Weather permitting, flightseeing tours and landings by helicopter are included complimentary on all North Pole voyages.

The vast, intricate, and ever-changing icescape of the Arctic Ocean offers a unique and challenging world of subjects for photographers of all backgrounds. A free photography program gives guests the chance to learn and practice photography skills alongside an expert photographer.

Primeval landscapes, intriguing geological features, poignant historical remains, and charismatic Arctic wildlife in Russia’s Franz Josef Land also provide a wealth of inspiration for the photographer.

Early booking rates are available for 13-day departures July 8 - July 20, July 19 - July 31 and July 30 - Aug. 11, 2018. Per person, double occupancy rates with applicable discounts are from $27,260 to $42,840. To qualify, reservations need to be made by July 31, 2017.For more details and itinerary see: http://info.poseidonexpeditions.com/north-pole-press-release-early-bird-discount

2018-19 Arctic and Antarctic Cruise Specials - Poseidon Expeditions Offers 10 to 20 Percent Off On Select Cabin Categories if Booked by July 31, 2017

PROVIDENCE, RI, Feb. 8, 2017 Early booking rates are available through the end of July 2017 for Arctic and Antarctic cruises in 2018-19 with polar cruise specialist Poseidon Expeditions. Cabin discounts are as generous as 20 percent off the regular rate, depending on category reserved.

Poseidon Expeditions (http://poseidonexpeditions.com/), which focuses on remote polar cruise exploration in the high latitudes, offers May through September cruises in the Arctic and October through February itineraries in the Antarctic.

The stylish and well-appointed 114-passenger expedition ship Sea Spirit serves both regions for Poseidon Expeditions. Applying the early booking discount, Arctic rates in 2018 for the all-suite Sea Spirit begin at just $4,660 per person if three people share a spacious Triple Suite. This rate applies to a June 27-July 5, 2018, West Spitsbergen & Polar Ice Edge/ Searching for Polar Bears adventure. This same suite for three with the early booking discount brings a Nov. 26-Dec.7, 2018, Antarctic Peninsula tour to just $7,564 per person. Double occupancy rates for these departures begin at $6,596 and $10,204, respectively.

Sea Spirit offers all-suite accommodations ranging from 215 to 463 square feet (20-43 square meters). There are two multi-purpose lounges for educational programming and entertainment, a restaurant that can accommodate all passengers in one seating, a well-stocked polar library, and ample outdoor deck space to enjoy the polar landscapes and wildlife.

Activities both on and off the ship are directed by a team of experienced, bilingual polar guides, scientists and educators. Guests are offered many opportunities to venture from the ship. Shore landings provide the chance to explore and to partake in guide-led interpretive walks and photography workshops. Sea kayaking and Zodiac cruising are offered in both polar regions and camping can be arranged in Antarctica. The ship’s expedition staff-to-passenger ratio of 1:9 is one of the most generous in the business.

Travelers bound for the Antarctic Peninsula embark from Ushuaia, the southernmost tip of Argentina. Other destinations in this region of the Southern Ocean include the Falklands and South Georgia Island, once a whaling center and the final resting place of legendary explorer Earnest Shackleton. Icons of the area are penguins, seals, sea lions, whales and birdlife, including albatross.

Arctic-bound cruises include a focus on the region’s wildlife – walrus, polar bears, reindeer, arctic fox, whales and birdlife – as well as delving into the history of polar exploration more than 100 years ago. Early summer travelers will come face-to-face with the contemporary culture of the Intuit and the echoes of the past visits of Vikings. In this shifting landscape of sea ice and icebergs, the Northern Lights are always a possibility on late summer departures.

The next frontier in polar expedition cruising is the High Arctic region known as the Franz Josef Land Archipelago. Few visitors have ventured here and because of multi-year sea ice, access by ship is possible only a few weeks each summer. Poseidon Expeditions is the only company offering dedicated cruises from Longyearbyen, Svalbard to this archipelago of 191 uninhabited, volcanic, mostly glaciated islands that since 2012 arepart of the Russian Arctic National Park. The seal industry drove the first explorers here in the mid-1800s. They were followed by others searching for the North Pole.

The complete 2018-19 Arctic and Antarctic schedules, rates and special offers can be found at https://poseidonexpeditions.com/. A new 80-page catalog detailing the company’s ships and activities is also available, and can be requested online or through any of the Poseidon Expeditions offices.

114-Guest m/v Sea Spirit to Introduce Splendors of the Southern Ocean’s Aquatic and Birdlife on Poseidon Expeditions’ Value-Packed Autumn 2017 Expeditions

PROVIDENCE, RI, Dec. 15, 2016 Reasons to venture toward Antarctica are many. Over 200 years ago unchartered waters, whales and the fur trade drew ships, explorers and those seeking a life of adventure into the Southern Ocean. Today curiosity is the driving force behind expedition cruising in this region.

Poseidon Expeditions (http://poseidonexpeditions.com/), which focuses on polar cruise adventures, will offer an incentive to travelers on two autumn 2017 cruises aboard the 114-guest m/v Sea Spirt into the Southern Ocean. Both cruises will impress visitors with the diverse sea and bird life of the region. One cruise travels into the Antarctica Peninsula; the other adventure spends more time exploring the lore and wildlife of the region that spans Patagonia, the Falklands and South Georgia Islands.

In November 2017 savings of from $3,300 to over $8,000 per couple may be secured on Ultimate Wildlife Expedition: Antarctica Peninsula, South Georgia & Falkland Islands November 6-25, 2017. This is a comprehensive 20-day expedition voyage that begins and ends in Ushuaia, Argentina, with rates starting at just $11,336 per person, triple occupancy, and $15,026 double occupancy.

This extensive exploration of the Southern Ocean embraces the Falkland’s capital city of Stanley and outer islands alive with birds. South Georgia’s staggering array of wildlife – seals, penguins and albatross – as well as the whaling heritage of Grytviken and a celebration of Shackleton’s legendary exploits precede the wonders of the Antarctic Peninsula where visitors experience an abundance of marine mammals and penguin colonies set amidst magnificent glacial and mountain scenery.

In October of 2017 the Best of the Southern Ocean: South Georgia & The Falklands October 20-November 7, 2017 spans 19 days with rates starting at $9,995 per person in a triple cabin and $13,295 per person, double occupancy. The voyage from Puerto Madryn (in Argentine Patagonia) to Ushuaia spends six days exploring South Georgia and three days exploring the Falklands. Over 200 bird species have been identified along this routing.

For all who book the October cruise before January 15, 2017, a complimentary full-day, pre-cruise excursion ($315 per person value) to the Peninsula Valdes Protected Nature Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is included. Highlights include a whale-watching excursion in the prime location for spotting Southern Right whales and Orcas and the hospitality of a traditional estancia where guests enjoy a spit-roasted lamb luncheon. The tour continues to Punta Norte, an important habitat for sea lions and elephant seals. Guests return to Puerto Madryn at sunset and embark m/v Sea Spirit for the voyage to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.

The m/v Sea Spirit offers all-suite accommodations with square footages ranging from 215 to 463. There are two multi-purpose lounges for educational programming and entertainment, a restaurant that can accommodate all passengers in one seating, a well-stocked library, and ample outdoor deck space to enjoy the polar landscapes and wildlife.

Activities directed by a team of experienced polar guides and educators include Zodiac excursions, hiking and optional sea kayaking, along with informative presentations aboard. The ship’s expedition staff-to-passenger ratio of 1:9 is one of the best in the business.
